About
John M. Duma is the founder of Duma Law Offices and a longtime Kansas trial attorney whose career spans more than four decades of criminal defense and civil litigation. Now retired, John built the firm’s reputation on a straightforward principle: when your freedom, livelihood, or future is on the line, your defense should be strategic, experienced, and relentlessly prepared—values that still guide the practice today.
Before private practice, John served as a Wyandotte County prosecutor, giving him an insider’s understanding of how cases are charged, investigated, and tried. Over the years, he became known throughout the Kansas City metro for handling serious felony and DUI matters as well as personal injury and workers’ compensation claims. John was also recognized by Super Lawyers from 2010 to 2023 for his work.
Although John has stepped away from day-to-day representation, he remains an important part of the firm’s work. Our team regularly consults with him during weekly lunch meetings to discuss case strategy and practical, courtroom-tested approaches—so clients continue to benefit from the experience that helped shape Duma Law Offices.
